From its Roman roots to its state-of-the-art winemaking process, Dryhill invites visitors to embark on a journey that educates and delights.

Dryhill’s story begins not in the 21st century, but centuries earlier. Excavations in 2023 unearthed a Roman coin, solidifying the land’s connection to viticulture. The Romans, known for their appreciation of high-quality wines, likely recognised the potential of this sunny, south-westerly facing slope. Fast forward to 2015, when the land was purchased and 2,000 vines were meticulously planted, marking the beginning of Dryhill’s modern-day journey.

We had looked forward to our afternoon tea at Tewkesbury Park for some time, so when the day came and we finally arrived, the anticipation was high.

On the last Sunday of November, we pulled up to The Greenway Hotel & Spa and we couldn’t wait to get inside.

We were there for a little getaway and hoped to be in for a treat… we stepped into the hotel and were met by a friendly smile at reception, a warm atmosphere, and found the place all decked out for Christmas, and then we knew for sure that we would be.

It was Robin’s birthday and I wanted for us to enjoy some lovely countryside relaxation, which, at The Wood Norton, comes with amazing food, feet up by the fire and late-night drinks on the moon-lit terrace. So I booked us in for the birthday celebrations.

During our recent visit, we experienced firsthand the culinary brilliance of the new Head Chef’s experience, passion, and vision. We were so well looked after, every dish was explained to us, the vision, the journey to perfect every aspect, and how flavours were paired.

Our dinner was a most memorable one. From the seriously delicious food to the cosy and warm atmosphere, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

ALFRESCO DINING AT ELLENBOROUGH PARK

The best in service and comfort is a given at Ellenborough Park, and while moving everything inside out, they have not skipped a beat in service and comfort levels.

We were greeted warmly, and all members of staff were lovely and super professional, even though their walk from the kitchen to tables was four times longer than normal, and a new part of their job was now keeping guests warm with a steady flow of blankets and fire heaters.
