Bath Christmas Market is utterly magical, the best we’ve ever been to.

This wonderful city with it’s Georgian architecture and abundance of wonderful independent shops and cafes, is transformed for nearly 3 weeks in December, draped in twinkling lights and enveloped in the aroma of roasting chestnuts and mulled wine, and the joyful sounds of carolers on many of the street corners.

The last day of Bath Christmas Market this year is Sunday 15 December, so if you fancy a trip there this weekend, there's still time.

The market itself will take your breath away. It’s massive! Cute wooden chalets overflowing with unique gifts, crafts, knitwear, food, sweets, and treats, line every street. Every single street! And the atmosphere… is pure Christmas joy!

ELLENBOROUGH PARK IS A MUST IN DECEMBER

When we arrived, we were shown into The Great Hall and seated in the most comfortable chairs by a table overlooking the stunning Christmas tree that stood tall in the corner. The roaring fireplace added to the cosy and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect setting for a festive afternoon tea.

A SPECTACULAR DINING & SPA RETREAT AT THE GREENWAY

On the last Sunday of November, we pulled up to The Greenway Hotel & Spa and we couldn’t wait to get inside.

We were there for a little getaway and hoped to be in for a treat… we stepped into the hotel and were met by a friendly smile at reception, a warm atmosphere, and found the place all decked out for Christmas, and then we knew for sure that we would be.

A CHRISTMAS TREAT AT THE WOOD NORTON

The Wood Norton is the epitome of English country charm. With its stunning architecture, beautifully landscaped gardens, and warm, inviting atmosphere, it’s the most wonderful place to escape to for an overnight stay, a relaxing weekend away, or a culinary experience. We went for a festive afternoon tea.

We were at Buckland Manor to enjoy a Festive Afternoon Tea experience. We had envisioned the enchanting afternoon tea that awaited, a delightful prelude to the festive season, and as we entered and were greeted warmly by the lovely members of staff, our vision came to life. We were seated by the open fireplace in the beautiful lounge, decorated with twinkling lights, boughs of holly, and plump wreaths… what a festive atmosphere, it was just lovely.

We had looked forward to our afternoon tea at Tewkesbury Park for some time, so when the day came and we finally arrived, the anticipation was high.

A GASTRONOMIC JOURNEY AT BUCKLAND MANOR

Buckland Manor recently made the decision to invest in elevating its culinary offerings, so now, in the expert hands of newly appointed Head Chef, Edward Marsh, a new era has begun.

During our recent visit, we experienced firsthand the culinary brilliance of the new Head Chef’s experience, passion, and vision. We were so well looked after, every dish was explained to us, the vision, the journey to perfect every aspect, and how flavours were paired.

A SWEET EXPERIENCE AT THE SLAUGHTERS COUNTRY INN

The Slaughters Country Inn in the picture-perfect Cotswold village of Lower Slaughter, is a charming space, inside and out. We recently enjoyed a festive afternoon tea here, and it was the perfect way to get into the festive spirit.

Our table, which was right next to the roaring fireplace, was the perfect setting for a cosy and festive afternoon. The warmth and the gentle crackling of the fire, created a truly inviting atmosphere. .
